Top Of The Popz 2016 Promotional Music Video
We were excited to work with Top Of The Popz yet again on a follow up to their 2015 Promotional Music Video. The band have been working hard over the last few months building their brand and booking out their calendar and were eager to build their video portfolio.
This time around they secured the amazing Kilronan Castle in County Roscommon for the video shoot. They kindly let us have the run of the huge ballroom down there which is a fantastic venue. The venue really stands out in the video and the lighting provides an evocative backdrop to the band’s sounds. Top of The Popz cover a lot of styles and genres, but we’ve been most impressed with their rock, pop and electronica offerings.
Gear and lighting was once again provided by Film Equipment Hire Ireland, who always have the latest gear and always look after us.
It’s safe to say these guys are going from strength to strength and are fast becoming one of Ireland’s most in demand party bands. You can catch them at one of their regular showcase gigs around the country. We’re looking forward to the chance to work with them again next year.

Studio Music Video for Country Music Artist Jade Mya
So this October proved to be a wild month for us here at Kerbute. Following on from our exciting summer adventure at the Recording Festival in Grouse Lodge, we were invited to Toronto to shoot a series of studio music videos for country music artist Jade Mya.
We were invited over by her Producer Douglas Romanow, whom we met at the Festival. He’s a very accomplished and talented Music Producer, and has a host of pop and country music credits to his name. As well as being a producer and composer, he is the Musical Director for the Canadian Country Music Awards, and a very talented artist in his own right. We had spoke about the possibility of shooting a studio music video in Toronto with one of his artists when we met – an idea that excited us very much as you can imagine. We all kept in touch, and true to his word he soon followed up with an introduction to the stunning and talented Jade Mya.
We flew over to Toronto for a week in mid October, just as the leaves were turning their glorious fall colours. The music videos were shot in downtown Toronto at Noble Street Studios; state of the art, built for purpose studios that have hosted artists like Will Smith, Justin Bieber, Drake and Kiesza to name a few. What a stunning building, and what a great experience! We also did some outdoor EPK stuff with Jade in the autumn colours of High Park, which you may get to see at some stage.
Jade is a born star, gorgeous on camera and gorgeous in personality too. She has a grace and presence in person, and a burning passion for country music. Jade is an experienced model, fitness queen and philanthropist and is quickly becoming an in-demand country singer.
Despite being a little tight for time (both Jade and Douglas are not short of ambition) the video shoot was tremendous fun and quite relaxed thanks to Jade, Douglas and his crew at Noble Street.
This is the first of four music videos to be released from the session; a cover of ‘Shotgun’ feat. Christina Aguilera from the show Nashville. If you want learn how to listen to music on facetime without shareplay, you can easily do thanks to online guides.

Promotional Video for Recording Festival 2015 at Grouse Lodge Studios
It’s fair to say that Kerbute have had a great summer packed with adventures. One of the highlights for us was being the video team for the first edition of the Recording Festival at Grouse Lodge Studios in Westmeath.
If you haven’t heard of it yet, the Recording Festival is an international competition whereby a musical artist can win two weeks residential recording at the iconic studios. This is a huge prize, and there’s nothing else like it out there.
The competition is the brain child of Filippo Gaetani, a talented and hugely experienced Music Producer and artist. Filippo had been to Grouse Lodge before producing ‘Overhead the Stars’ with Peter Doran. We also worked on that project which is how we came to meet Filippo and wound up collaborating again this summer. The atmosphere and surroundings during his first trip to Grouse Lodge inspired Filippo to create the Recording Festival competition, where winning artists would be given a chance to live, collaborate and record with experienced producers and engineers for two whole weeks in the idyllic setting.
The applicants apply with a single song, which then goes through several rounds of judging. The judges panel are made up of industry experts who between them have worked on some of the greatest musical talents of our time. This years winners we certainly deserving, and proved to be both incredibly talented and fun to be around.
This is the promotional video for the 2015 edition of the competition. It is designed to introduce you to the festival and encourage artists to apply for the next edition. We shot a ton of compelling and fun footage over the two weeks this summer, and that content will be edited and released sometime next year, so watch this space. We really loved shooting it, and we’re sure you’ll love watching it.
Recording Festival are currently accepting submissions for it’s upcoming 2017 edition so get on it and apply here: http://www.recordingfestival.com/ Judging by how great the first one was, the next one is going to be something really special.

We’ve a brand new live music video project to showcase, this time around we have a live studio session with Bluemoose, one of Ireland’s leading party and cover bands. The session brought us back to the exciting Grouse Lodge Studios once again, which has always looked after us so well and given us some great footage down through the years.
Bluemoose are an exceptional cover act, with tons or raw talent and energy. This is the first video from the session, a cover of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’. I don’t mind saying I prefer Bluemoose’s version to the original, nor do I imagine I’ll be on my own with that, it’s a great version. We had fun lighting the studio and working out the blocking. We employed the Movi Freefly once again with the Panasonic GH4, which was as always a winning combination – as well as some Sonys for various locked off angles.
Kudos to Eoin Delaney from Directing Media for coming down with us to the shoot, he was as usual a huge help and a vital part of the crew.
We’ll have more coming from this session over the next few days and weeks as we shot five videos in total with the lads.

Yet more great options for those seeking wedding or party bands in Ireland, our latest video for ‘Top Of The Popz’ – one of Ireland’s most exciting Party Bands.
This was a great shoot which took place in Kildare in December. The band are talented, professional and full of enthusiasm.
For the shoot we rolled out the Movi M10 from Movi.ie yet again, this time running the Sony A7s supplied by Film Equipment Hire, who also provided our lighting and lenses. As with our last few shoots, once everything was set up we were able to work through the various shots and takes quite quickly. We find this helps keep the energy up for the band and the crew.
Big thanks to Cathal Molloy for providing playback during the shoot, as well as keeping a shot log for us – on top of organising the venue etc! A true gent.
We’re looking forward to what 2015 has on the horizon, with plenty of exciting shoots already in the pipe.

Our latest official music video is here. This time we’re back working with Watson ACE on their new track ‘Never Take The Place Of Your Man’. You might recognise the track as this is a cover of the old 80s Prince track, changed somewhat from it’s Pop origins to a folky heartfelt ballad. The track has been getting some airplay in the last few weeks and has been added to the playlist on a number of radio stations including RTE1.
The video features Colm Lynch from Watson ACE and was shot at some stunning locations around Dublin City. The track is being released just in time for the December / Christmas market and is available for download right now from Soundcloud. The track is also available on the band’s current album ‘Backbone’.
We shot the video using our Panasonic GH4, and the Freefly Movi M10 from Movi.ie. Let me tell you, GH4 slow motion and the Movi are a winning combination. It allowed us to move quickly around the Dublin City centre, and as quick as we could conceive a shot we could execute it. Additional lighting gear was supplied by Film Equipment Hire Ireland who are always there to save the day. A big shout out goes to Eoin Delaney from Directing Media who helped out on the shoot. His expertise was invaluable.
