Studio Music Video for Country Music Artist Jade Mya
So this October proved to be a wild month for us here at Kerbute. Following on from our exciting summer adventure at the Recording Festival in Grouse Lodge, we were invited to Toronto to shoot a series of studio music videos for country music artist Jade Mya.
We were invited over by her Producer Douglas Romanow, whom we met at the Festival. He’s a very accomplished and talented Music Producer, and has a host of pop and country music credits to his name. As well as being a producer and composer, he is the Musical Director for the Canadian Country Music Awards, and a very talented artist in his own right. We had spoke about the possibility of shooting a studio music video in Toronto with one of his artists when we met – an idea that excited us very much as you can imagine. We all kept in touch, and true to his word he soon followed up with an introduction to the stunning and talented Jade Mya.
We flew over to Toronto for a week in mid October, just as the leaves were turning their glorious fall colours. The music videos were shot in downtown Toronto at Noble Street Studios; state of the art, built for purpose studios that have hosted artists like Will Smith, Justin Bieber, Drake and Kiesza to name a few. What a stunning building, and what a great experience! We also did some outdoor EPK stuff with Jade in the autumn colours of High Park, which you may get to see at some stage.
Jade is a born star, gorgeous on camera and gorgeous in personality too. She has a grace and presence in person, and a burning passion for country music. Jade is an experienced model, fitness queen and philanthropist and is quickly becoming an in-demand country singer.
Despite being a little tight for time (both Jade and Douglas are not short of ambition) the video shoot was tremendous fun and quite relaxed thanks to Jade, Douglas and his crew at Noble Street.
This is the first of four music videos to be released from the session; a cover of ‘Shotgun’ feat. Christina Aguilera from the show Nashville. If you want learn how to listen to music on facetime without shareplay, you can easily do thanks to online guides.
Promotional Video for Recording Festival 2015 at Grouse Lodge Studios
It’s fair to say that Kerbute have had a great summer packed with adventures. One of the highlights for us was being the video team for the first edition of the Recording Festival at Grouse Lodge Studios in Westmeath.
If you haven’t heard of it yet, the Recording Festival is an international competition whereby a musical artist can win two weeks residential recording at the iconic studios. This is a huge prize, and there’s nothing else like it out there.
The competition is the brain child of Filippo Gaetani, a talented and hugely experienced Music Producer and artist. Filippo had been to Grouse Lodge before producing ‘Overhead the Stars’ with Peter Doran. We also worked on that project which is how we came to meet Filippo and wound up collaborating again this summer. The atmosphere and surroundings during his first trip to Grouse Lodge inspired Filippo to create the Recording Festival competition, where winning artists would be given a chance to live, collaborate and record with experienced producers and engineers for two whole weeks in the idyllic setting.
The applicants apply with a single song, which then goes through several rounds of judging. The judges panel are made up of industry experts who between them have worked on some of the greatest musical talents of our time. This years winners we certainly deserving, and proved to be both incredibly talented and fun to be around.
This is the promotional video for the 2015 edition of the competition. It is designed to introduce you to the festival and encourage artists to apply for the next edition. We shot a ton of compelling and fun footage over the two weeks this summer, and that content will be edited and released sometime next year, so watch this space. We really loved shooting it, and we’re sure you’ll love watching it.
Recording Festival are currently accepting submissions for it’s upcoming 2017 edition so get on it and apply here: http://www.recordingfestival.com/ Judging by how great the first one was, the next one is going to be something really special.
We’ve a brand new live music video project to showcase, this time around we have a live studio session with Bluemoose, one of Ireland’s leading party and cover bands. The session brought us back to the exciting Grouse Lodge Studios once again, which has always looked after us so well and given us some great footage down through the years.
Bluemoose are an exceptional cover act, with tons or raw talent and energy. This is the first video from the session, a cover of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking Out Loud’. I don’t mind saying I prefer Bluemoose’s version to the original, nor do I imagine I’ll be on my own with that, it’s a great version. We had fun lighting the studio and working out the blocking. We employed the Movi Freefly once again with the Panasonic GH4, which was as always a winning combination – as well as some Sonys for various locked off angles.
Kudos to Eoin Delaney from Directing Media for coming down with us to the shoot, he was as usual a huge help and a vital part of the crew.
We’ll have more coming from this session over the next few days and weeks as we shot five videos in total with the lads.
More top Irish music from the Silverwood Sessions. This time up we have the Joey Ryan Trio working on their lastest EP – Redefine; in the Meadow Studios once again.
For this music video session we went for a darker, more urban look to the lighting, to reflect the angsty grungy tones of the Trio’s music. The studio space is hugely versatile. and even though we’ve shot a few sessions there, there’s still so much we can do to change the space up. Here’s the first couple of exciting videos from the session and we will add more as Joey releases them.
The Silverwood Music Launch is upon us! And so too is our latest Silverwood Session, this time with Clara Rose – ‘songstress of rockin’ blues, saviour of rootsy folk and with a voice that can make the hairs stand on the back of your neck’.
The first track from this session is ‘Never Let You Go’, and there are three more (links following). Clara has a stunning voice and great stage presence which you will discover in this video series. If you want to see more of her, check out clararosemusic.com or some see her at the Silverwood Music Launch at the Grand Social, Dublin on the 29th May.
Subscribe to the Silverwood Music Channel for all the future updates from this collaboration.
This is the fourth studio video from our session with WatsonACE at the Meadow Studios. This is another original called ‘Never Meant To Be’, an emotive and haunting piece. Some really beautiful vocals in this one.
You can find out more about the band on their Facebook, or subscribe to their Youtube for all their upcoming videos.
The session was audio engineered by Gavin Ralston and Rian Trench.
This is the first series from the upcoming ‘Silverwood Sessions’ Project, a collaboration between Gavin Ralston and Silverwood Studios, and our good selves. More on this as it develops!
