We were approached by Glan Agua to produce a corporate video to tell the story of their construction project; The Cavan Waste Water Treatment Plant.
On the surface, we didn’t know what to expect with this project. We quickly learned that there was more to this construction than what was obvious on the surface. In fact it was a fascinating project to learn about and work on. Having spent some time with the project team leaders we discovered what was important about this particular treatment plant. Glan Agua have employed some innovative technology on the site to deal with the effluent. Their use of a vacuum de-gassing system is the first of it’s kind in Ireland and the UK. Further to this, their project management brought the plant online ahead of schedule and under budget. This was all achieved while delivering an incredible quality of water to the Cavan river.
Engineering Video Production
We worked to highlight these many qualities and successes in our video production. We interviewed a number of key contributors for the piece to tell the story. Aerial video was used to showcase the site and how it was integrated into the landscape. 3D graphics we created to help illustrate some of the innovative design and mechanics of the project. We scripted and commissioned a voice over for the piece to guide the audience through the project and add context to the content.
Corporate Video Production Glan Agua
The client was delighted that we could help distil all the information they provided to us, and finally create a coherent and watchable video. They felt we helped to make the process of video production easy and accessible for them. We feel this video efficiently and emotively tells the story of the successful construction and management of the plant in a way anyone can appreciate.
Corporate Web Video Wedding Band Association (WBA)
Corporate Video featuring Andrea Hayes on Green Screen
Our recent work with various wedding bands brought us in contact with the Wedding Band Association. They were seeking to create a corporate web video for their new website. The video is intended to help summarise what the WBA offer couples seeking to book a band for their wedding.
Cathal from the WBA made contact with the talented Andrea Hayes who agreed to present for the video. We shot the video at Film Equipment Hire, who have a great infinity Green Screen studio upstairs.
Andrea has a wealth of experience as a TV presenter as well as radio and commercial work. She was a real professional and really nailed the script. She gave us lots of options in her delivery, as you will see from the video.
Series of Corporate Web Videos for Le MagIT and IBM MaaS360
Le MagIT IBM Corporate Video Shoot
We recently completed a series of corporate web videos for French technology magazine Le MagIT in partnership with IBM.
This shoot brought us out to IBM’s Technology Campus in Dublin, somewhere none of us here at Kerbute have ever had the chance to see before, and it turned out to be a very interesting experience for us all. The IBM buildings are quite imposing from the outside, but inside are full of buzz and activity. The busy location provided an appropriate backdrop for this series of corporate web videos.
The series of videos are all in French and feature Le MagIT’s Christophe Bardy in conversation with IBM’s Adrien Chepeau about their MaaS360 product. MaaS360 is a Enterprise level Mobility Management system that provides security for mobile devices and apps.
For more information about MaaS360 see the IBM website.

We had the privilege of being invited to the rehearsals for this years annual Rock Against MS in Los Angeles thanks to the Bass legend that is Tanya O Callaghan. And us being ourselves, we couldn’t help but get stuck in and do what we could to help; and what do we do best but make videos?
The Rock Against MS is a great cause, with the LA gigs being run by the indomitable Nancy B Sayle. This is it’s third year. It annually hosts some of the biggest names in Rock Music, and this year was no exception with Billy Sheehan, Joel Hoekstra from Whitesnake and Stephen Perkins from Jane’s Addiction all signed up. The gigs are intended to raise funds and awareness for the Rock Against MS foundation.
We got to hear all the acts rehearsing and putting together their tracks for next Thursday night down at SIR (Studio Instrument Rentals), one of LA’s most famous rehearsal spaces, and rental houses. All the musicians were signing some great merchandise which will be up for grabs on Thursday. Schecter Guitars donated two beautiful axes which you will see in the promotional video. and there’s tons of drum heads, guitar picks and so on.
What an experience getting to hang out with these legends. All in all we shot 12 little video snippets calling people to come and support the cause down at the Whiskey A Go Go. And rumours have it that there may be one other huge rock star showing up on the night, but I won’t breath a word. You’ll have to see for yourself on the night (EDIT: So Taylor Hawkins turned up and sang a David Bowie tune. Aaamaaazzinnng!!) .
Promotional Video for SAID – Serviced Apartments In Dublin
We recently finished a promotional video for Serviced Apartments in Dublin, short term letting specialists in Dublin City.
They wanted a promotional video to showcase a little of what someone might experience during a stay at one of their serviced apartments in the Dublin City centre. We had a short mid-morning shoot where we explored the property, and used the model to help create a human attachment with the property. SAID have very modern clean apartments with all modern conveniences, and we used a deliberate contemporary visual style while shooting to reflect this. We wanted to showcase the tranquil location in the middle of the big city. We also wanted to reflect the peace one might expect while staying there, combined with great access to the central business districts. This is vital for anyone who intends to visit Dublin City on an extended business trip, but wants the freedom and resources of their own apartment without the commute or travel times in and out of the city.
We shot it using the Freefly Movi M10 and the Panasonic GH4 in and around this apartment in the city centre. This kit was light and flexible, while still providing high quality video, and suited the job perfectly. We could plan and execute shots quickly and produce a number of takes without wasting too much time. We were able to capture a number of run-and-gun shots near the location to provide some context to the central location, and we employed the GH4’s excellent in-camera timelapse feature for production value.
This project happened as part of our Property Visuals business.

We’ve been very busy and lucky the last few months here at Kerbute HQ. One of our recent and on-going collaborations, this time with Aerial Filming Ireland, has borne fruit; and wow is it ever sweet!
Aerial Filming Ireland is one of Ireland’s premier drone helicopter / UAV businesses run by Steve and Susan of GoodLooking Films. We’ve been helping them out on most of their recent shoots, operating the Movi gimbal attached to the Cinestar 8 Octocopter, and helping with some of the on-site logistics. Drone flying is a tricky business we’ve learned, but it can also be a rewarding and – pardon the pun – uplifting one.
To date we’ve helped out on shoots for The National Lottery (the one where the guy goes mountain climbing to find the Guru?) and the OPW (Newgrange, Tara Hill and St. Stephen’s Green so far) as well as some other exciting shoots. We’ve flown the Canon C300, the Black Magic Pocket, and our own 4K wonder; the Panasonic GH4.
Our most recent shoot was for CBS 60 Minutes Sports who were working on a piece in Kinsale, Cork. Wow, CBS 60 minutes eh? Yeah. It was great.
Susan from Aerial Filming has written a blog piece about the whole shoot, in which she speaks about what went on for the day, and also the tribulations of drone flying. It’s well worth a read for anyone out there interested in hiring a drone for a shoot, and not sure what to expect.
